DRINK YOUR GREENS


Gracie inspecting my morning bunch of juicing greens, just picked from the garden and alive with life forceđŸŒ±â˜€ïžđŸŒ±. Watch your nose on the nettles, pup! Swiss chard and nettles are a rich source of iron, best absorbed with acidic fruit (which tastes better, too). I juiced this bunch with half a lemon and an apple. Though lemons are acidic, like greens, they have an alkalising effect on the body- which soothes inflammation and promotes healing. The greenness of greens is thanks to their chlorophyll- excellent for pulling heavy metals from the body. Stinging nettle is a fabulous medicine and foodstuff- amongst a million other things, it's excellent for detoxifying the kidneys and cleansing the blood. If you get stung while harvesting, dab on some nettle juice for quick relief!
